3 Christian Films You Absolutely Must- See in 2017

Going to the movies is a great way to unwind and relax after a work or school-filled week. Furthermore, using this time to watch Christian films is a way to connect with the Spirit and build yourself up in an edifying manner. Here are a few films hitting theaters this year that you can use for date nights with God, friends, family or your significant other!

1.The Case for Christ


The Case for Christ  hit theaters today! This film, based on a true story, focuses on the life of an award-winning investigative journalist who sets out to disprove the faith of his wife with his journalism and investigative skills. However, he does not expect his journey to have the life-altering results that it does.

2. The Shack

 The Shack, based off the New York Times best-selling book tells the story of  Mackenzie Phillips, a man whose life is turned upside down and shattered by the disappearance of his daughter. After receiving a mysterious invitation to the last place he would ever want to see, Mack’s healing begins in a very unexpected way.  The film, now in theaters, has grossed $32 million worldwide and has received praise from the likes of Tasha Cobbs, Dr. Jamal Bryant and Full Gospel Baptist Church Fellowship presiding bishop,  Joseph W. Walker.

3. Same Kind of Different As Me

Same Kind of Different As Me is slated to hit theaters on Oct 20. This film is also based on a book titled, “Same Kind of Different As Me: A Modern-Day Slave, an International Art Dealer, and the Unlikely Woman Who Bound Them Together.” This film is about an international art dealer who befriends a homeless man. The focus of the film expresses the intersection of life’s journey.
