Then He arose and rebuked the wind, and said to the sea, “Peace, be still!” And the wind ceased and there was a great calm. – Mark 4:39
Where does your faith lie at this very moment?
Is it being covered with fear from tropical storms or in the hands of the Almighty who has the power over all things?
It was on the Sea of Galilee Jesus made this statement on a boat with His twelve disciples who were fearful because of a raging storm.
Prior to making this statement, Jesus had just begun his ministry and gathered His twelve disciples to inform them of the good news of His Father.
From parables to visible acts of the Holy Spirit, which moved within Him, these were a few ways Jesus ministered to many while preparing His disciples for their future. For He knew a day would come when they would be able to “preach, have the power to heal sicknesses and cast out demons- Mark 3:14-15” just as He was at that appointed time.
However, before getting to that stage in life, His disciples had to grow in their faith. And at that moment they hadn’t quite gotten there yet.
Even after questioning them, “why were they so fearful and where was their faith- Mark 4:40,” He never gave up on them nor did His faith ever die.
At this moment God is looking for you to move forward with strong faith and share the good news with others. He is aware that this task will not be easy, but just as He was with His disciples when the raging storm appeared, He will also be with you.
