Beyonce, Oprah, Jamie Foxx, and More to Band Together for One-Hour Telethon for Hurricane Harvey Victims

A number of high-profile celebrities have come together to help out the citizens of Houston in the aftermath of Hurricane Harvey.

Beyonce, Oprah Winfrey, and Jamie Foxx are said to be featured, as well as Blake Shelton, Julia Roberts, George Clooney, and more according to The Christian Post. The telethon will feature musical performances and celebrity appearances from all over the country, from Los Angeles to Times Square to Nashville.

The current death toll of the hurricane has risen to 63 people and Texas governor Greg Abbott stated that the current estimate of the cost of recovery is around $180 billion. Many teams have been able to rescue citizens of the hurricane, but flood waters still prove to serve as a major obstacle for these teams.

“Hand in Hand: A Benefit for Hurricane Harvey Relief” will take place on Sept. 12 and it will air live at 8 p.m. EDT on ABC, CBS, NBC, Fox, and CMT. More details are said to be released soon.
